Iam modeling beam-column joint under two load steps the first one is loading column with concentrated force for one second then I will load the beam tip with cyclic load the problem there that iam using displacement control for beam load so when I defined its load profile beginning with time=0 the amplitude=0 and that cause preventing the last resulted effect or displacement from step one and the beam will begin the deformation not from the last position resulted from step one but it begins the deformation from its original position :displacement=0 .For that i want some instructions for modeling two subsequent load steps correctly ,and I heard about predefined field tool in abaqus but i can not use it properly. If some one has the answer for this problem please give your instructions.
Go to boundary condition manager move ur load from initial to step one or any step u want like image below
Perform step 1 and find the last beam tip displacement (say, u). Then rerun full job with load profile in step 2 shifted by u.
