Dear All,

To identify the rock top level, we conducted geotechnical investigation at a spacing of 50m interveral. Since the piling is near to hill and the top of rock is changing drastically. We thought of observing the pile cutting materials retrieved from rock bucket (the contractor is using rockbucket for both soil & rock) and time to drill each meter depth. The rock is very soft (Kondalite group-easily crushable by hand) and difficult to identify the rock top level. This will affect the socketing length and cost of piling. Please suggest any other practices.
