Hello everyone,
I want to work with the Millet and want to give drought stress to them, but while reading through the literature i came to know that we can give the stress by adding the high molecular weight PEG (6000 or 8000) which act as a osmoticum , But i am confused about the concentration of PEG and also how to give the stress to the plant means at which stage
If any lab is working on millets or giving PEG induced drought stresses to the plants please help me in this context

You have to use at least PEG 8000 for water stress since its size is bigger than the interstices of the cell wall, and thus PEG cannot pass into the cell. Some publications point to the beneficial effects of PEG when it enters the cells. You have to know that the number 6000 or 8000 is not a molecular weight, and you have to add PEG to your nutrient solution until you get the desired osmolality by using osmometer.
