I used the post-processing template in CST to calculate the refractive index of a pure dielectric block (the permittivity 2.3). Theoretically, the refractive index should be the square root of the dielectric constant (that is, about 1.5), but the post-processing result is about 2.3. Why?

Did the dielectric have a high loss tangent? If the loss tangent was 3.5 the real part of the dielectric constant could be same as the real part of the refractive index.
