I am a final year Mechanical Engineering student trying to model the surface roughness of the alloy mentioned in the question on LAMMPS. I have never used LAMMPS and have only programmed in python. Could you provide any methods or information on how I could get started with developing the surface. I am happy to learn C++ as it looks like it will be a requirement but apart from that if you have any information on how I could model the surface (even using the python add on), please let me know.
I should add that the workpiece I whose surface I am trying to model has been constructed using selective laser sintering method.
