In Poland, until 2019, information on the remuneration of members of the management board of joint-stock companies was provided at a fairly general level of detail in relation to the general management costs of the company, and possibly, at the discretion of listed companies, they reported more detailed notes on the amount and forms of remuneration of management staff in companies. Therefore, the analysis of this type of remuneration in joint-stock companies was difficult to perform. General data on this type of company costs could be taken from the profit and loss account. Currently, we have amended regulations in this respect and the new provision of the Act on Public Offering introduced the obligation to prepare an annual report on the remuneration of the management board and supervisory board and to submit this report to the auditor's assessment. The first such annual report will be prepared jointly for the years 2019-2020 and its assessment will be made for the first time in 2021. The remuneration report is to be a document drawn up separately from the company's financial statements and annual report. Under the "notes" of financial statements, you would be able to find the information related to remunerations of executives. Notes provide detailed information about each expenditure a firm incurred. If you want to collect this information as a secondary data source, notes are the only place you can find it. Otherwise, you have to go for the primary data collection process.
