I have isolated Botrytis squamosa from onion leaves and confirmed its ID. However, I can't get it to sporulate in culture. I have tried various different media and light/dark. I have also tried onion leaf agar. It will produce lots of sclerotia in certain media. The other option is UV light but I do not have easy access to an incubator with UV lights. Any ideas?

Possible test different temperatures ranging from five to thirty degrees, difference of five degrees for every replication, If you don’t have incubator facility you could use different laboratory in compare with refrigerator, good luck

Glad to be in contact with you again. We are producing inoculum at this moment based on the sporulation of sclerotia from Botrytis squamosa sclerotia, described in our communication available at ResearchGate (Galvan et al., 2004, Onion Improvement Newsletter). Sclerotia are sown in sterilized humid sand in Petri dishes, and plates stored/cultivated at 4-5ºC, as suggested by Houda Kawas here, and imitating what occurs in nature, following Clarkson et al (2000). As a whole, the procedure takes rather long, some two months, but abundant sporulation occurs.
Alternative, some poor-nutrients media and micelia cuttings in a cheker design may help to get sporulation in B squamosa colonies under UV light.

Nice to hear from you. Can you send me the newsletter please? I don't have easy access to a UV light so I was trying to avoid this. I have tried onion agar and leaving the plates on a windowsill but no luck. I get plenty of sclerotia but no spores. Thanks for the help.
