I am interested in doing research to disaggregate rainfall for 3H to 1H using field data from 2003 to 2021. I also have GsMAP satellite data providing 1H rainfall data and its statistics. Now I need a plan to do this research work. Can somebody assist me?
1. Read the literature on Rainfall Disaggregation, particularly the review paper by S. K. Nandi and M. J. Salcedo-Sanz (2016) titled "A review of rainfall disaggregation approaches". This will help you understand the different approaches available and the advantages and disadvantages of each approach.
2. Read the paper by Bartlett and Lewis (1991) titled "Rectangular Pulse Rainfall Disaggregation". This will give you an overview of the BLRP approach and how it works.
3. Read the paper by D.J. Garside et al. (2002) titled "A method for disaggregating daily rainfall using the Bartlett-Lewis rectangular pulse (BLRP) approach". This will provide a detailed description of the methodology and implementation of the BLRP approach.
4. Read the paper by Nandi et al. (2016) titled "Comparison of different rainfall disaggregation approaches over India". This paper will provide you with a comparison of the different approaches and the results obtained from the application of the BLRP approach in India.
5. Familiarise yourself with the relevant software. Both R and Python libraries are available for implementing the BLRP approach.
6. Finally, experiment with the BLRP approach on a dataset of your choice. This will help you understand the approach better and improve your understanding of the application of the BLRP method for rainfall disaggregation.
