We want to using some kind of SLM (spatial light modulator) to generate a uniform optical intensity distribution (in a small solid state angle, about 0.2 rad).I am not sure that can be realized by one laser beam incident on the DMD and control the reflect angle of each micro-mirror. The area of the expected intensity distribution are not so large (1 or several mm square or should be enough for our application. We are using some laser light near 1060 nm (average power is about 2 watts).

Check the flat top (tophat) beam shaping using diffractive optics (e.g. topag.de). Due to some its properties it is mostly used for laser ablation systems, but probably can be used in your application too.

What distribution of incidence light and what you want output used for, we do not know. But as you are using 1064nm, we suppose it is from Nd:YAG laser with a Gaussian distribution, maybe the flat top laser beam shaper can meet your need. where edmundoptics.com has this kind of products.

It is pretty straightforward to generate a flat-top beam starting with a Gaussian using a liquid crystal (LCOS) SLM. Fred Dickey's papers are a good place to get the theory on how to generate the phase screen you will need. (I have no experience with DMDs, so can't comment on their use for this application.)
I had this problem back in the mid 80's and experinced difficulties using a 1 watt Ar laser. Today i think following Liesl Burger or Ming Li advise would be your best course.
