just use the suitable solvent like hexane and others and put it in the upper part of the system. the raw material must be putted in a filter paper and closed then putted in the upper part. the process started when you can see there is a circulation between the upper part and the lower part.

In order to extract by the Soxhlet method it is important to take into account the solvent to extract, since the substance to be obtained must be soluble in the solvent, so the interaction between the solute and the solvent must be greater or same than the solvent used. For the operation it must define factors such as extraction time, temperature and solute-solvent ratio. Then to separate a rotoevaporation distillation is used. It has to take into account that for the selection of the solvent it is necessary to carry out a technical-economic analysis. Therefore you must use a solvent with a polar covalent bond if it is desired to extract a substance of alcoholic origin.

soxhlet is used for primary extraction.  it cannot be used for fractionation., 

as you already finished the extract preparation, u can use separating funnel for fractionation of soluble components between 2 insoluble solvents. 

so, dissolve the obtained extract in water, and shake with organic solvents starting from petroleum ether,  n-hexane,  chloroform, ethyl acetate separately. u will get fractionation. 

methanol is polar solvent with less than alcohol. many will use the same solvent for extraction it will solubulises all organic substances present in the plant material. the highest polar substances will require ethanol.

using soxhlet one can directly do the fractionation with selecting the solvents in above mentioned order (from non polar to medium polar to polar).

I am agree with Rao Knv. After soxlhet extracción and maybe a primary partition you should use chromqtographic techniques to sepárate the compounds.
