This error is related to the input/output issue. According to my experience, it will be fixed if you provide more space for the job.

I'm having the same error in Gamess, did the ammount increase of space fixed it ? Because we have drastic increased MEMDDI and MWORDS for a small system but it keeps throwing us back this error.

The " I/O ERROR" is related to the amount of disk space you dedicate to a job. MEMDDI and MWORDS change the amount of RAM not disk space.
