I have designed two same antennas, one is transmitting antenna and other is receiving antenna, both are in far field of each others and antennas are in face to face orientation.
HFSS can provide relative power measurements (S-Parameters) between two antennas (although this could be a long and heavy simulation). One way to do this is to create two ports (lumped port, wave port, etc., depending on your design). You can excite one port (right-click on Excitations > Edit Sources...), this would correspond to the transmit antenna, and leave the other port without an excitation. Run the simulation and plot the S-parameters between the two ports.
Simulate both antennas independently into empty space to get the gain of each then use the Friis equations to calculate the relative power transfer between them. Make sure you use gain not directivity. If they are in each other's far field then multiple reflections and other coupling between them, which this method ignores, should be insignificant.
You could use the Hybrid Region function in HFSS. By surrounding the antennas in SBR boundary, the simulation cost is reduced. Other approximate methods, such as IE, is also available. There are useful paradigms in HFSS examples.
Another method is to simulate the transmitting antenna first, then to use it as a far-field source placed away from the receiving antenna.

As I use CST, but you can simulate any antenna in receiving mode with far field source and excite your receiving model either lump port or wave port and then right click on Field overlays in Project manager and then click to edit source option and change the solved magnitude for 0 W in wave port case and for 0 V in lump port case for the excitation of receiving antenna. In this manner you can analyze your antenna in receiving mode.
