I am looking to find thioesterase (Te) domain from tyrocidine synthetase C (TycC)from Bacillus brevis ATCC 8185. I can able to find the TycC domain in ncbi but unable to find the 756 bp Te domain.
You can follow this tutorial on EMBL https://www.ebi.ac.uk/training/online/course/pfam-quick-tour/searching-and-visualising-data-pfam-sequence OR goto https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Structure/cdd/wrpsb.cgi and in search database section just pfam database and run.
Thanks everyone..actually i have searched the particular thioesterase domain in NCBI-CDD and motifscan already.. but in all the search, i found the Thioesterase domain sequence varies from 6254-6482 amino acid (228 amino acid) in tyrocidine synthetase C protein (this protein is made up of 6486 amino acid) and according to these searches, Thioesterase domain is 228 X 3 = 684 bp long but i am referring one article (Chemistry & Biology, Vol. 11, 261–271, February, 2004) in which thioesterase domain is 756 bp long.. please anyone can explain this aspect..
