I've noticed that some of the journals I was targeting to publish a paper in were very expensive. I was wondering if there is any list or service which lists journals according to their Impact Factor and Fee?
Most journals usually provide the option of regular paper (longer review period without fee) or open access (shorter review period but requires fee). You may list journals by impact factor using the sort option in Journal Citation Reports.
Many open access journals waive off the article processing charges (APC), either completely or partially, if authors are unable to pay the fees or if their grants don't cover the APC. This is generally mentioned in the journal website under the section Article Processing Fees/Charges. Once you select your target journals, you should check each journal's website to see if there is a possibility of getting a fee waiver. If the website mentions that it is possible, you should write to the editor at the time of submission, explaining your problem and requesting a fee waiver.
