I am writing to inquire if anyone knows how and where to find some unused antibody that was discontinued by Santa Cruz Biotechnology (KCNQ1 Antibody (C-20): sc-10646). Our lab would like to use it to complete some previous results that we obtained with that particular antibody. SCBT has an alternative antibody as a replacement, but we would prefer to use the old one if possible.
If anyone has any remaining stock of this antibody, or if you know of a source where it may still be available, please let me know. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
You could try finding out which companies sell SC products in your area ( Insight Biotechnology in London for example) and contact their technical support ( not sales support they will just look at the online catalogue) in case tech support have trial vials or have stock for testing and quality control. Tech support cannot sell items but in the past I have had tech support giving me a sample that was no further use to them
They may also be able to help tracing supplies. Particularly with antibodies there is sometimes only one manufacturer of particular antibodies and they simply sell it rebadged to a variety of other companies often with some similarity to the original antibody name. Try Santa Cruz tech support and see if they will tell you which company supplied them with the original antibody as the original company may have the identical product but under a different catalogue number
