A module is consist of a solar cell, encapsulant (EVA), tempered glass and backsheet. The tempered glass can't be cut so if we try to remove a part of a cell complete glass shattered into pieces.
Certainly try Gilad's method. If that doesn't work, then the procedure is probably impossible.

Would you please report about the experiment? What is the area of you cells?
I have doubt that one can remove the solar cells unbroken from the modules!
If this simple method succeeded then it will be great for the recycling process.

I tried Gilad Orr method but it is very difficult (~impossible) to get unbroken cell from an encapsulated module.
Btw I am interested only in a part of cell so I extracted only 28 sq mm part using a drilling machine and heat gun.

Im interested in extracting cells from a pv module. Its sad to hear that Gilad Orr method didnt work at all, buy maybe its a kickstart to other methodologies. Have you tried using solvents to remove the encapsulant? Please be free to tell us more about the troubles in your experiment. Thank you
