I have a question about a TG thermogram, obtained from an analysis on PP and PP+2.25 wt% MWCNTs, conducted from 25 to 900 ° C at 10°C/min, in air and in argon.
I don't understand why the residue of PP/MWCNTs in argon is about the same of PP (when it would be higher for the presence of CNT) and the residue of PP/MWCNTs in air is smaller (when it would be the same of PP).
Could anyone help me? Thank you in advance!

Looking at the TGA curves I have seen that the neat PP gives an unusual high residue under both air and argon (13-15%). Is it a mineral filled PP composite used for your experimental trials? Traditionally, the expected residue for a PP (homo- or copolymer) must be much lower (e.g., 0 - 1%).
If you are certain about the origin of PP , please don’t exclude an eventual problem with your TGA apparatus and check it for the good calibration.
