In the last month, I carried out PL spectra measurement on a luminescence materials at various temperatures. From the obtained result, I found an very interesting spectral region where zero PL intensity exists between two intense emission peaks. This has been never found before. Commonly, PL intensity arises from the radiative transition process between two energy levels. Based on which, I naturally attributed the existed zero PL intensity region to forbidden transition behavior at the corresponding energy position. However, it is just my present viewpoint but I can not provide a direct evidence to support it. Is there anyone help me to give some comment on it? I will appreciate your answers.
