If I have to study adsorption kinetics of dye on any porous material, how do I experimentally determine Ce. For example
dye concentration - 100mg/L
adsorbent amount - 10mg
The adsorbent is stirred for 200 min in the dye solution where aliquots are collected at 0,2,5,10,20,50,100,150,200 min respectively.
Equilibrium concentration is the concentration that you measured in the final solutions after shaking .If it is found constant ,then the final concentration will be equilibrium concentration and the time after which no change in removal of dye or concentration is observed that will be equilibrium time .
You can get equilibrium concentration by plotting concentration of aliquots that collected at 0,2,5,10,20,50,100,150,200 min with time of collection.
Thank you so much Hassan Alsahami Sir. I just need a quick clarification about the way for determining the concentration of the dye after each time interval. I am getting the absorbance from the UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Should I convert absorbance to concentration using caliberation curve or unitary method. Since I am sure about the absobance of dye at C0 that is 0 min.
With the help of Calibration Curve you can easily calculate the final concentration of dye (Ce) . For this you have to make the stock solution of dye at different concentration and take the absorbance of these solution with the help of spectrophotometer.
