I am currently appraising the quality of some meta-analyses on a particular oncology topic and I need to assess the "Excess of Significance" in the included systematic reviews and meta-analyses to categorize the evidence into the four known classes. Do you have a step by step approach for this? Is there a statistical package for p value calculation related to the excess of significance as proposed by Ioannidis in 2007?

How data are prrsented in those studies? Number and percentage? Or mean andd standard deviations?

Thank you for your response. The umbrella review contains 17 meta-analyses. The data are presented as Hazard Ratio of overall survival with their CI at 95%. The included meta-analyses are of retrospective cohort studies.
Its ok so easy send me ur data i will do it for you free or download MEDCALC software and use it if you are experienced in statistics

Here is an example of how to compare multiple studies with the variable outcome with virtual cancer therapy
We need the followings
1- total number of patients in each study
2- The number with (POSITIVE OUTCOME) in each study
3- sometimes we can use ODD ratio or risk ratio instead of the number of positive
4 At last how to assess the outcome? See whether studies Homogeneity!
you can see labelled with green that P- Vale for heterogeneity is significant
Conclusion; the outcome is different among studies with regard to interference used in those studies

Hazard Ratio is calculated by Kaplan Meier Survival Analysis to calculate the 5-year survival of any malignancy.....
