I have a problem when I used spray drying to solidify a polymer solution. The yield was too small because solidified polymer like a spider's web in the drying chamber, I tried to reduce the solid content and temperature but the yield is still too small.

I was reading a patent while ago discussing this problem that I if water atomized along with with the solution. polymer deposits in the liquid distributor and in the atomization apparatus are prevented. Please read the whole story here

1. Dilute your polymer solution, increase both the temperature and spray pressure.
2. You can also try with freeze drying method.

From my point of view, you have some problems with the suspension properties and spray drying parameters. The wall deposition of the spray dried material always influences the yield. Suspension viscosity and the inlet temperature are important parameters for the wall deposition.
