So i have a foam based temporary prototype of a component which i want to be 3d printed. I wanted to make a cad model of it via solidworks or catia but it is too complex to model. If I uses mimics i have to import images in format of DICON file format. I want to take images of the foam prototype and then want to do analysis of it. Also after getting the 3d model i want to make some edits in it and then want to do analysis of it. Please suggest me a way to do. It would be very helpful.

you can use a "3D scanner" like the one from sense, peel 3D etc. to extract the exact dimensions for your prototype. You can edit the scanned file using the same software with the scanner and analyze your prototype. This .stl file can be transferred to slicing software like CURA, ready to print in the FDM 3D printer.
