hello :)

I want to know if there's any way that I can separate the effect of superoxide radicals on cell death from immature senescence in Arabidopsis cells/leaves. I need to design an experiment which can possibly show that my mutant plants die faster because of early activation of senescence. By the way I have already checked the expression of many senescence associated genes in my mutant plants and they are up-regulated.

So i want to categorize my question into :

1) is there any biochemical method which can separate these two?

2) is senescence associated with a specific phenotype or sub-cellular change which i can look for further and prove my point? (for instance a change in the shape of vacuole)

Thanks in advance.
