try dilute first at high concentration in dmso and then add the appropriate mililiters of this preparation as the last step in your cell assay. you have to check whether stearic remai s soluble at the highest concentration ( 0.05 mM)
I tried dissolving 100mM Stearic acid in DMSO and it got dissolved over heating .But when i added to the minimal media, again it became insoluble . I tried also heating it but it did not work
Try first to dilute into medium with lower concentrations instead of going directly to 0,05 mM, heating in the final step will not work. Also, use pure dmso
I would try to get the sodium salt before dissolving it, otherwise you are likely to have precipitation. So maybe make your DMSO solution and add 1 eq of aqueous NaOH, and then it should dissolve without a problem.
Since Stearic acid is an acid (and the sodium salt is a base), you should double check your pH before using the media, maybe adjust the phosphate concentrations in consequence.
I have tried dissolution of stearic acid in ethanol. It dissolved by providing some heating (40 degree) but the next day solution becomes unclear and hazy with some particles. how can I stable my solution for long period
