I am performing hydrocarbon degradation assay (diphenyl carbazide assay) using bacteria. So I need to dissolve non polar (hydrocarbons) such as Benzene Toluene Ethylbenzene and Xylene in minimal medium.

But if I use any solvents to dissolve those hydrocarbons in minimal media, it should not affect the bacterial growth.

I had already tried with DMF for dissolving BTEX, but DMF itself had some bacterial growth inhibition.

Can you please suggest any best solution for this.

Thank you in advance.
