I'm using gravity and magnetic data for modeling through Oasis Montaj. I want to use a depth limit of my own choice, by downward continuing my data. Given the instability of the results yielded by this filter, I would like to know whether there's a simple method out there, to do this. For example, for upward continuation, we know that, by using a filter of 2z km, we can remove the effect of the uppermost z km. I'm wondering whether the opposite of this method - from Jacobsen (1987) - could be used in the process of downward continuation.
