First-be sure what is the reference electrode, and weather in both cases (your and the literature) the potential is referred vs the potential of the same reference electrode. Second-try to se weather in both cases the working electrode and the working conditions are identical. If you make a scan-rate analysis in cyclic voltammetry, you can get insight of what happens in your system, and what is the possible redox mechanism. For more details, take a look in:

In addition, you can modify your electrolyte composition in order to determine if the redox peaks are related to Mo or not. If you increase the MoS2 concentration and the peaks increases it means that Mo (or S) are involved in the reaction.

let me suggest you another MoS2 test-class of "new" samples (ask permission from supervisor) for your CVs.  "Modify" your initial (as received) MoS2 in a strong base electrolyte for 1 or 2 day(s) and then wash it in dist. water. Then remake your (same) CV.

Can you please share the paper about the redox reaction of MoS2; because I can't understand the reaction you mentioned. Besides you haven't mentioned the standard electron type.
