How to determine the range of fit parameters of blocking models in determination of a membrane blocking mechanism?

there are four mechanisms in membrane blocking; complete blocking, standard blocking, intermediate blocking and cake filtration. the mechanism of blocking is determined by comparison of experimental data of membrane filtration and some model of blocking by graph fitting. It is done by trial and error and the fit parameters should be guessed in a reasonable range.
