Wood is a complex fibrous substance having cellulosic units WITH lignin and organic/inorganic compound metal(s) ion etc. To OBTAIN ACTUAL C-content IN WOOD you have to extract pure cellulose FROM IT. THEN, YOU CAN ANALYZE C-content IN THE CELLOLOSE USING elemental analysis OR XPS analysis.
