Hi, Thanks for the kind reply. RCRA SW-846 is mostly concern on GC/MS and IC which is not available in our Laboratory. Hence, I would like to develop the method using UV-VIS and do the standard analysis (calibration) using different concentration of permanganate solutions.
But, for now I’m a bit confuse in doing the sample pretreatment. May I know which method is most suitable to extract the Cl compounds from oil?
Other than UV you can do a quantitative analysis for Cl. First you need to do a sodium extraction then precipitate Cl using Ag or Hg or Pb ion solution or you can do a redox titration and measure the protential.
