I am working on generation of synthesis gas and the for further cracking need to design a fixed bed.
We use a FB reactor made os SS (hydraulic tubing) 12 mm OD (smaller ID is most likely working better. All connections made with Swagelock.
Reactor is heated in a tubular oven made for the diameter of the tube.

Of course You will need equipment to controll the pressure; this includes a pressure sensor and a needel valve + controll unit. For safety reasons it good to add a pressure relif valve. For proper gas feed you will need mass-flow controller for all individual gases.
U can use L/D > 25 for laboratory fixed bed reactor, depending on the system u need Mass flow meter, back pressure regulator , heating oven ( to maintain the temperature )
Search for theses on heterogeneous catalysis from University of KwaZulu- Natal South Africa. The theses will outline the reactor design very well.

you can design it by packing your catalyst inside a reactor and between two quartz wool bed to fix the catalyst from movement
