Hi everyone, I want to design a MBR following the UTC scheme (anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic tanks. Could you indicate me which are the basic rules (HRT, recycling rates between each tanks, etc.) to sizing my unit ?
Following your experience, which configuration is the best : external filtration with a ceramic membrane or an external filtration with a filtration chamber (with mixed liquor and organic membrane) ?

I think you mean UCT, and you would size this using the standard rules of thumb - so the internal recycles are set at 4 x average flow. Retention times for the different stages I would need to do a web search, which you should be able to do.
The only difference is that you would not have the RAS recycle, so might need to compensate by increasing the relevant internal recycle to 5 Q.
As for membrane choice, I am not sure what the difference is between the two choices that you propose. The standard MBRs use in-tank membranes, whether flat-sheet or hollow fibre.
