I'm trying to design a structure in CST studio using a macro, the macro reads in the parameters from the parameter list and generates a structure. This works perfectly the first time I run the macro but when I re-run the history list the macro fails, see attached for the error.
My macro calls a sub-function in the macro but CST does not seem to include it in the history list, is there a way to include sub-functions there?
Does anyone have any templates or ideas on this?
In addition is there a way to automatically update the structure when I edit the parameters?

Okay, so I eventually figured this out. The two tricks that helped me get a parameterised fractal design in CST Studio are:
- Using ‘MacroRun("myMacro.mcs")’ in the main macro, where myMacro.mcs contains the structure definition.
- Using a dummy brick to force a parameter dependency on the macro.
In CST studio you would want to write a macro that you add to your history list, that in turn calls a different macro using 'MacroRun'. This second macro can include as many subs and functions as you could ever use and create recursive designs in CST.
Secondly, you would want to create a brick in the macro (the one added to the history list) that uses all the parameters you use in your macro. This forces CST to consider the macro dependant on the parameters and updates the history list whenever one of the parameters is changed. You can then delete this brick after running the macro.
