i designed mppt using neural network also boost converter in matlab/simulink. without knowing the switching frequncy how can i calculate L and C?? is there any way to find the fs value of my mppt in simulink??
the determination of inductor and capacitor values in a Dc-Dc converter depend absolutely on many parameters and the switching frequency is one of them . So first of all , you should set theses parameters then u can determine L and C values.
the values of Inductor and capacitor depends on the frequency but u can derive the value of L and C in terms of frequency. then get the values of L and C by substituting the value of "f" at whatever frequency u want.
By considering suitable voltage and current ripple tolerable in the output waveform, the parameters like L and C can be computed. fs is optimised based on the requirement of application field for which boost converter is to be designed. You can refer following link for understanding how boost converter is designed:
A practical design for low power (100's of Watts) might operate at 100kHz, whereas a high power system (100's of kW) might operate at 5kHz. An an actual design, a lot of effort will be spent determining what is best for the available switching devices. For simulation, I would just pick a frequency with these typicals in mind. Then select your inductor value for about a peak-to-peak ripple current that's about 30% of the DC current. There are good reasons to run higher or lower, but again, 30% is reasonable. The capacitor value is less critical for boost power stage operation, and is typically selected to reliably withstand the pulsating current.
