I have commercial SnO2 powder and want to deposit TiO2 from its precursor (TTIP) on that. I was wondering if just adding alcohol solution of TTIP on SnO2, following by heat treatment can give me SnO2-TiO2 mixed oxide.
And also as a second way, synthesize TiO2 by sol-gel method while there's SnO2 powder in the medium.
I'll appreciate if anyone can give me a hint.
Sol-gel technic is a good way in this case, without preparation of the surface of SnO2.. The TTIP become typically a good gel in the presence of AcAc, AcOH and water. Then you can use dip-coating method after heating gel coating since 600°C. The thickness of TiO2 layer depend of the speed-rate and the number of "dip-coating operations" (about 300nm for one step). At higher temperature, "rutile" phase could be obtained instead of anatase or brookite.
You need to deposit SnO2 thin film, then TiO2 synthesized via sol-gel is deposited by spray pyrolysis technique on SnO2
