I am interesed in all scientific papers that illustrate and help understand how various trees are growing - can You reccomend any papers on that topic?
I am attaching referential image - I do not know the original source of the sketches though
( I got to know that there are images redrawn from some English book from 1930s)
I would appreciate any suggestions :)!

Tree growth can be seen from different perspectives, for example, height growth, diameter growth, volume growth and etc. For diameter growth, tree rings are measured and each ring represents the growth in a year. You can watch this video:

You can measure the horizontal projection of the crown on the ground or use a canopy densiometer. The height, dia, volume, biomass, age (growth rings counting using Pressler increment borer ) also will give you a fear idea about tree growth. Tree growth is probably best depicted a volume or biomass because it accounts for growth in all three directions. The most frequently measured parameter on trees is diameter at breast height followed by height. Numerous papers report equations (see previous comment) using these variable for project volume or biomass of the entire above ground or individual components. Just make sure the equations were developed for trees sizes that includes the ones in your study. For statistical analyses using analysis of variance, volume or biomass values will likely need to be log transformed to minimize variance in variation among treatments, analyzed, and then back-transformed for reporting if you want the reader to visually growth in three dimensions.
