Please tell me the pH thresholds for classifying acid and alkaline lakes, threshold of Fe concentration for siderotrophic lakes, and DOC concentration of humic lakes. I also looking for the literatures listed in the thresholds of the respective dystrophic lakes.
dystrophic lakes:having too low an accumulation of dissolved nutrients to support abundant plant life; having highly acid, brownish waters filled with undecayed plant materials, and eventually developing into a peat bog or marsh.
Eutrophic and dystrophic states of lake ecosystems are associated with distinct differences in phosphorus (P) input, refractory dissolved organic carbon (RDOC) input, and certain internal processes. Eutrophic lakes have high P input and high primary production. Land-use changes or climate fluctuations that change RDOC input rates may have long-lasting effects on trophic state of temperate and boreal lakes.
