In India, MSMEs are defined on the basis of capital investment made by the firms In accordance with the provision of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006.
In case, a firm invested 25 lacs in plant and machinery (say) in year 2017 and next year again invested 10 lacs in plant and machinery.
The firm lies under which category?
a) micro enterprise or
b) small enterprise category

Dear Maam,
According to the reference its not clear that incremental investment (except pollution control, R&D investment) can be included in total capital investment of the firm. If we go by the definition, we only consider initial year investment.
Kindly help in exploring the answer.
