I am attempting to perform a steady-state simulation of the welding process in ABAQUS to enhance computational efficiency. In my research, I have referenced previous studies that utilized DCC3D8 elements. My next step involves defining the MASS FLOW RATE. However, I have not been able to find where to define this in the ABAQUS user interface. Is it necessary to define this in the DFLUX subroutine in conjunction with the heat source?

there are keywords that need to be manually added (directly into the .inp file or "edit keywords" in CAE) into the input file as they are not implemented in CAE (GUI). When you check the manual it should list the program components right after the keyword and if you see Abaqus/CAE there, then you can define in the GUI and the manual page will show you how. In earlier versions, MASS FLOW was definitely a keyword only feature, not sure now.
