Hi, Abaqus has such capability as meshed beam cross-section (see “Meshed beam cross-sections.” Section 10.6.1 of Abaqus 6.14 Analysis User's Guide). It allows for the description of a beam cross-section with arbitrary shape, but only for linear elastic material behavior.
The results visualization on cross-stction can be obtained using Python script in “Viewing the analysis of a meshed beam cross-section,” Section 9.10.10 of Abaqus 6.14 Scripting User's Guide.
Some examples of .inp files are available in Section 3.17 "Meshed beam cross-sections" of Abaqus 6.14 Verification Guide.
Thank you so much for your reply. I tried this arbitrary method first by MATLAB to find the x and y coordinates. But in this method, Abaqus creates a semi-circle with a hole (it creates just like pipe shape with semicircular section), but I need the exactly half of circular shape which is available in beam sections. (not pipe)
