I am working on a research paper in which the model is little bit complex and require technical knowledge. For instance, my independent variables related to firms level (436 firms for the year 2018) and dependent variable is categorical variable. Meanwhile, my moderator variable is country level variable (institutional policies) with only 1 value.
Here the issue is that i am not able too understand how i can analyze these relationships. Because the moderator has only 1 value while for IVs there 436 observations.

Can you please elaborate? I am not clear on what you mean when you say your moderator has only 1 value. A moderator variable can either be continuous such as in a rating of scale from low to high (1-7), or it can also be categorical such as red or blue (dummy coded as 0 and 1). Are you saying that your moderator (institutional policies) has the same value across all 436 observations or are you saying you only have 1 of 436 observations that has institutional policies as a characteristic. If the latter, then you cannot run an interaction because there is only one observation that has that additional characteristic. If the former, then you need to determine if the moderator variable is continuous or categorical and if all the observations have the same value for a moderator variable it would not make sense to test for interaction effect because the moderator value is the same for all the IVs. my moderator is constant variable. as the institutional policies is set by the government and remains same for all firms over one year or two year. i found the value of my moderator variable from "Environmental performance Index" for the year of 2018. and this value is (4.35).
In this case it would not make sense to include it in your model because there is no change in its value across all your firms. I would just run a regression or logistic regression to observe differences between firms. I also would identify a different moderator that has different values across observations. Have you also looked at firm size or firm industry type? Those values might vary and serve as a moderating effect of firms on your DV. The environmental index might work well as a moderator if you include firms from different countries whose index value differs from each other. I hope that helps.
