While doing excavation analysis of tunnel ( plane strange) in abaqus, I need to create a contact surface on excavated boundaries.

In my model, first I gave initial loading, then run first step as geostatic and created equilibrium and subsquently I used static general and also deactived the surface where I need excavation boundaries by model change.further I need to create a contact surface on the excavated boundaries.

Please some one help.
