Hello everyone!
I'm newbie in Matlab and Abaqus... Actually I'm trying to model a composite with randomly distributed spheres in matrix using Matlab for creating random distribution and then Abaqus for running the code in addition to the whole model. I've already got the right code but I can't understand how I can insert it into Abaqus.
I guess there are some extra commands are required in order to change the filename extension or something like that.

I combine Abaqus and Matlab a lot, and it is really effective. If you need to change the geometry etc, then it is easier to combine python with Abaqus (since the whole Abaqus CAE is built on python scripts).
However, if you want to generate dynamic names for instance, you can use;
for n=1:10 %variable that is created in a for-loop fnameMain = sprintf('%s%d%s',NameInpFile_',n,'.inp'); fidMain = fopen(fnameMain, 'w');
After this you can start creating the model by writing into the new file by using the sprintf command.
For instance, if you want to include another text file into your input-file, then you can use the following command
fprintf(fidMain,sprintf('%s', '*INCLUDE, INPUT=Original_inpfile.inp \n'));
And finally, when you want to run the analysis from Matlab, just use the following command;
jobn= fnameMain(1:end-4); disp('Running ABAQUS') dos(['abaqus job=' jobn ' cpus=4 interactive']);
