I want to create a membership function for the probability distribution (generated from statistical data) of the remaining fatigue life. Can anybody guide me on how to do so? I have found few papers on internet but most of these seem to confuse me rather than helping me. It would be great if somebody could guide me in the aforementioned matter. Thanks.

can you, please, explain in more detailed presentation (at least by examples), what you are interested in. In particular:
What do you call a "membership function for the probability distributions" (of whatever)?
What type of content did you study in papers found in the internet, that they confused you? Were they about something else than you have expected? Or their form was to complex? Or . . . ?
