How to craft research title for thesis?
There is no hard & fast rule to craft a research tile for thesis in which to do so can be an art. Because it depends / subjects to many factors & which point of view you are coming from.
a. Length of the title for study ( Any word limit philosophy)
Suggest between 10-15 words, not too short i.e. too general the description or too long making it very bulky for reader to understand / recall / remember. Generally finding quantitative research's title is longer vs qualitative research in which its title is shorter. Personally to me thesis title can be used to set boundary of your research in which you can put something as a draft to guide your research & can be changed before your final thesis submission for examination.
b. Usage of all sub constructs ( dependent and independent variables) in title framing.
Some researchers do what you mentioned, some prefer to hi-light the Dependent Variable (DV) where as some pen down the DV plus general / summarized wording to represent many different Independent Variables (IV). On the other hand, some researchers prefer to hi-light the IV e.g. Effects of Smoking in which smoking is the IV. Also please be noted some researchers will not use DV nor IV especially those conducted their studies in qualitative research.
c. Identification of a particular area for study: Reference of area in the title ( A study of _____ Region)
You can do that as some researchers prefer to qualify their population or mention where s/he will extract the sample from; beside other wordings e.g. depiction of DV, IV etc. This can portrait the uniqueness of the research & might provide different dimensions which are different from the mainstream discovery for further knowledge contribution.
d. Use of a Case Study instead of a study
You can do that especially you are conducting a case study - this is also an approach like point (c) above to delimit certain research boundary & not meant for generalization to the entire industry, community, country etc.
e. Sampling frame connectivity with the title.
You can do that if you find mentioning the sample frame can provide / hi-light the significance / contribution of your research which may different from the similar mainstream research findings.
May be hard or may be easy, this depends on the subject and some other factors.
It should be a puzzle to the viewer and should express the exact gap the researcher identified
