I am cutting clips from my Sony Handycam videos using Avidemux. I use video and audio output same as the source, and use Avi muxer for getting the avi format. But these avi files are not readable by ImageJ. So I first convert them to avi files by using Virtualdub, and then open them in ImageJ. But the problem with Virtualdub is that the aspect ratio is not maintained and the video files get stretched, which creates a problem for setting the scale in imageJ.

So my question are the following:

1. Can I create ImageJ readable avi files using Avidemux itself?

2. Can I maintain the aspect ratio of the avi files in Virtualdub?

3. If none of the above can be done, then please suggest an ImageJ compatible video editor+ transcoder for cutting and converting videos; or an ImageJ compatible transcoder for converting the videos after cutting with Avidemux.
