Hi Asiya,

If your aim is to extract RRI, from an ECG text file ([time,V]), you can also do it directly, without the conversion step to WFDB format.

Here might be an option, if you are using Matlab:

Thank you for your reply. The links you have provided are interesting and I will consider them in the future studies.

However, my main purpose is not to extract RRI, but I need to do some comparison on the datasets.

Physionet has a tutorial explaining the WFDB-compatible formats and how to create files from recorded signals (link at the end).

You can have a look on the matlab file: mat2wfdb.m

Dear Florian,

I have downloaded the WFDB MATLAB package and the mat2wfdb.m function did work with me.

I did check the conversion by using (rdsamp) function to convert it back to text file again and plotting it against the original signal before conversion.
