Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is fine, currently I am converting my Metal organic framework (Ni-BDC) which contains terephthalic acid and nickel into carbon material with a well reported pyrolysis method using tube furnace, but all the time after completing my pyrolysis I end up with nickel oxide with no carbon powder. Even though I tried to remove oxygen from tube furnace with a degassing method prior to heating using argon gas to displace oxygen by controlling flow rate, because I don't have vacuum system in my tube furnace. Is there any other factors of MOF effecting the pyrolysis.
how to properly convert MOF into carbon because these MOF already contains oxygen in it.
Why there is a carbon loss, it is because of argon gas flow rate, or carbon is reacting with oxygen to form other gases.
Any suggestions and helpful tips will be really valuable for me.
Sincerely
Shanmuka Rao
