i do not know this format but maybe it is saved in a csv format. Try to open our file in a texteditor and take alook on your data. When it is separated by semicolon you only have to rename your file into .csv and you are able to open it in MATLAB.

Like wrote T. Pursche this is the way You also can open like a .txt file in notepad, but the .cvs file is lighter, copy and paste for large data is better performed with .cvs files. If the format of the data has other style in your text file editor you always can use replace and change dot or comma according to the requirements. Good luck and regards

Could I ask you how you solved reading the *.e file to Matlab?

By what I see it is proprietary binary file which cannot be read as ASCII.

This file supposed to contain the RAW data as well as scoring (hyphogram and all the events).
