It is getting difficult to control viscosity of Nitrile rubber (NBR) latex compound which is thickening by Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Is there any suggestion to keep stable with negligible viscosity and TSC changes for few hours?
In case you want to consider solvents for nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), you may find useful to check: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Can_any_one_tell_me_which_solvent_nitrile_butadiene_rubber
I thought of suggesting a wetting agent such as calsolene oil HS. This is a highly sulfonated water-soluble oil that does not increase the viscosity of the latex.
However, it may be worth trying to leave CMC & use the water-soluble poly(vinyl alcohol) which serves two purposes: thickening & adhesion. PVA is better than CMC when it comes to keeping some "stability" for few hours.
